Former Governor in Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari is apparently showing others how to be man of the people, especially at the grassroots level.

He is spoiling members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state this Sallah with the donation of 200 cows.

Yari who is the state APC leader, has, by this, ensured that there would be plenty meat to share during the festivity.

The state APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Gusau on Tuesday, said the gesture was aimed at reducing the hardship members, especially grassroots party men especially in the face of lockdown from COVID-19.

“In addition to food items donated to people of the state, the APC leader also donated 200 cows to party members and other needy”.

“The animals have been distributed under the supervision of central coordinating committee headed by myself.

“In each of the 147 wards of the state, we gave one cow”, Liman said.

He said other beneficiaries comprised the executives and elders of the party across the 14 local government area of the state.

“Youths and women wings of the party and staff of state APC headquarters among others also benefited from the gesture”, he said.

According to him, the former governor’s gesture was in line with the party’s commitment to assisting various categories of the needy to celebrate Eid-El-Fitr in a happy mood.

The Eagle reports that the former governor had reached out to the grassroots party men.

Last month, he donated 1400 bags of assorted grains to the state for distribution to the people of Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Speaking at the ceremony in Tsafe, headquarters of Tsafe LGA, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman said the gesture was aimed at supporting people of the state especially the grassroots especially vulnerable groups to cushion the effect of the lockdown as a result of COVID-19 especially during the Ramadan fast.

He was represented at the event by an elder of the party in the state, Alhaji Umar Abbas.
