AFCON 2025 qualifier: Sports Minister Charges Super Eagles

The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, has given a charge to the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they go for their AFCON 2025 qualifier against Libya.

The two countries meet for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Friday and the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh has told them that there is no room for complacency.

The minister’s charge was contained a statement released by his spokesperson, Diana-Mary Nsan

“Your solid start in the qualifiers has put you in a favourable position to secure a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

“Nonetheless, you must guard your place, as the Mediterranean Knights will aim to defy expectations, seeking at least a draw in Uyo. Never undermine your opponents.

“The nation will be rooting for you; make us proud, and good luck,” the minster charged them.

The Eagle reports that the 2025 AFCON will take place in December in Morocco, from December 21 to January 18 January 2026.

Nigeria has won the cup three times, first being in 1980 when it hosted the continental soccer fiesta.

How it fares in the AFCON 2025 Qualifier against Lybia is as important as any other game before the competition proper.
