Two Friends, But See What Tragedy A Lady Has Caused Them

They were such close friends that they even traveled together from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State to Niger State, but see what tragedy a lady has caused them.

That travel together was  for a business and the two friends lodged in the same hotel to rest their heads once arriving the town..

Rather than finish the business in one mind and return to base to enjoy the fruit of their hard labour, one is now dead, and the other narrating all he knows before the police about his late friend.

Though they had travelled for that business together, things began to happen differently for the two friends however, the moment a woman came into the picture.

They had been simply identifies as Okereke and Ibere Okorie.

Details of what led to the falling apart are still sketchy but it was said that when the disagreement of the girl started, Okereke allegedly stabbed his friend, Ibere Okorie.

The latter did not survive the attack, his death immediately attracting the police into the matter.

A police source told The Punch that while hotel staffers rushed the victim to a private hospital in Mokwa, Okereke quickly rushed back to Ijebu Ode, apparently to save his head.

On the other hand, from the private hospital, Ibere was later rushed to a Lagos hospital before eventually moving him to the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife; none of those spirited efforts yielded much; Ibere eventually gave up the ghost on 13, December, 2023.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the tragedy, adding that the suspect had already been detained, and the corpse deposited at the mortuary.

There were no words as yet on the lady whose arrival on the scene had allegedly made two friends to fall apart, one eventually paying the supreme price.

Could the tragedy have been avoided?

Was there a way that either of them could have envisaged what lay ahead, and possibly stayed low?
