There was stampede at Mangoro Bus stop, in the Ikeja area of Lagos yesterday when a commercial bus driver engaged a combatant soldier.
Passengers and other passersby took to their heels at the outset of the fray, leading to confusion around.
Our correspondent who was at the scene of the incident reports that two commercial buses heading towards Sango Otta from Ikeja, had hit each other, leading to heated argument and fight between the drivers.
This resulted in the blockage of the road and traffic, a development that angered the solider who rode in a motorcycle with plate number TR 143A.
The soldier’s entreaty on them to move their vehicles off the road, was rebuffed by one of the drivers, with vehicle number FCT-159 CE who gave his name as Adeyinka .
Adeyinka’s argument was that the other driver was at fault and should pay for the resultant damage before he could pull off the road.
He paid a brutal price for his insistence as the angered soldier not only gave him slaps but disfigured his face with bruises.
Passersby who could not stand the scene took to their heels.
