A survivor of the Kibbutz Kfar Aza massacre, who now deems an Israeli ground invasion as justified, emphasized the imperative of dismantling Hamas.

Neta Portal, a 22-year-old, underwent surgery in Tel Aviv, where doctors removed five bullets from her left leg and one from her right leg.

During her conversation with the BBC, Portal quivers as she recollects her experiences of drifting in and out of consciousness when assailants forcibly entered the residents’ secure space in the Jewish community of Kfar Aza and launched a sudden attack.

She said, “They were shooting people. They were shooting the kids. And the people were shouting ‘Please no, please no.’ I tried to wake myself because I didn’t want to die.”

When asked how she thinks the Israeli government should respond to the massacre of her community and the other atrocities, she said, “You want the truth? I don’t want Hamas anymore in my life. We need to destroy them one by one. We need to be strong.”
