Shock! How Man Returned From Funeral to Meet Wife, 6 Children Dead

An unidentified man is said to be mourning the loss of his wife, six children and two relatives in Turkey after a fire gutted his home late Tuesday.

Officials disclosed the fire broke out at an apartment in Bursa just before midnight on Tuesday, where a Syrian refugee family who had been living in Turkey since 2017 had just moved in a month and a half earlier.

According to local media, the mother, her six children, ages one to ten, and two nephews, ages 11 and 12, were all inside the apartment when the fire broke out.

According to the Anadolu news agency, the father tried to save people inside after arriving home late from a funeral in Istanbul but was overtaken by smoke.

“There are nine bodies inside. Eight of them are children,” Bursa regional governor, Yakup Canbolat, was quoted by Anadolu.

Alinur Aktas, the mayor of the city, claimed in a tweet that a wood-burning stove inside the flat was most likely to blame for the incident.
