Relationship: Can A Rich Lady Be A Wife Material?

Rich or poor, women can be very sensitive in relationships.  But to be tagged wife material, a lady would have to possess some kind of quality. Does being wealthy be one of such attractive qualities? In fact, can a rich lady be a wife material?  Our reporter took this question to town and here are the views of Nigerians:

It is not true that all rich women are not wife materials but most people think so because the experience these ladies have had in the past has taught them to be self-protective.

However, the money can get into their head sometimes, which is a normal thing.

Even a man can also misbehave when he has money and that is not to say that a wealth lady is not a wife material. Let’s look at Folorunsho Alakija; she still regards her husband despite her wealth. I don’t think I have any problem marrying a woman who is wealthier than I am.  I am not intimidated by her wealth and that is not to say I love her because of her money. There are many things that she doesn’t have that I can help her with and she can also help my career with her money.

It depends on what you call rich in your context. A wife is a person that manages the home.  Let’s look at it from the lives of Eve, to Sarah down to the prudent woman in Proverbs chapter 31. These are what I call rich, not necessarily for what they have. For me, a rich woman is the one in proverb 31

Not all rich ladies o can be wife materials. I think it all depends on the upbringing and the character of the lady. Some are very humble while some are very proud and saucy. At least, I’ve seen a lawyer who has her own house and who is also living comfortably yet she doesn’t show off.  She is very humble even to her husband; in fact, she bakes during her leisure time.

Actually it is based on upbringing.  There are ladies that whose behaviours are not pleasant, and it is just because they think their money can do anything. So they speak, dress and look at their fellow human beings in a manner. Out if 100% rich ladies hardly will you see 70% that can wash their clothes themselves talk less of washing their husbands ‘clothes.

Hmmmm… Perspective differs, but I will go for the theory that rich women are arrogant, elegant and proud, and all of these things may overshadow the reason why we both get married. She will always feel she is right and want her mediocre husband to pay respect and obeisance to her all the time. She wouldn’t want to respect him.  She believes she is always in the boss ‘position, so I cannot marry a woman who is richer than me.

I don’t think rich ladies are wife materials because they are always free and do not feel insecure with a man.  They don’t even think they need a man to tell them that they are beautiful or to assure them that they will take good care of them. For example, I dated one, she traveled to Germany and has been there seven years now, and that is how our relationship ended. I can’t actually marry one because its unpredictable talktokfc.co.nz.

There are some things you have to consider first before concluding:  the lady’s behaviour and character. If her attitude is negative then you know she is not a good wife material.

I can marry a lady richer than me but she must be submissive, God-fearing and well behaved. She must be a mature person and someone who understands life and who is also ready to comply with me.

Yes, it is true, most are not wife material. She would definitely be rude to her husband and the honour will not be there. It takes God’s grace to find a rich woman with a cool character because with that money, she would think she is everything and that nobody can control her she will not even listen to her husband advice. The ones with courtesy are rare.
