Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi is keen on returning to Real Madrid in the 2025 summer window as he could follow Kylian Mbappe.

According to Mundo Deportivo [via Football Espana], the wing-back for Paris Saint-Germain is keen to go to the Santiago Bernabeu with Mbappe during the 2025 summer transfer window. The Moroccan may be able to persuade PSG to allow his transfer to the Spanish capital because his contract expires in 2026 and the club will be hesitant to let him go for free the following season.

Hakimi is one of Mbappe’s closest friends on and off the field. If Mbappe’s deal with Real Madrid reaches a tension point at any moment, the club could potentially use the signing of Hakimi as leverage to smooth things out for the Frenchman and his entourage.

Hakimi is a graduate of La Fabrica, the Real Madrid academy. He progressed through the club’s ranks before leaving on two loan stints and permanently, unable to establish himself ahead of more seasoned right-back Dani Carvajal in the starting lineup.

Luis Enrique will be aiming to keep the Moroccan at the team past this season at the very least, as Hakimi has been a mainstay in the lineup thus far this season. Enrique will be looking to rebuild the group and give it a new look with Mbappe’s impending departure.
