Free Health Mission – Makinde’s wife challenges other Governor’s wives

The wife of the governor of Oyo State, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, has thrown a challenge to wives of other state governors across the country.

This he she has done by sustaining a free health outreach for Oyo people, which at this second run, would attend to about 400, 000 residents.

Beneficiaries would be drawn from across the 33 local government areas of the state.

Mrs  Makinde said the programme organised on quarterly basis was designed to support the well-being of people in the state through access to basic health care..

The Omititun for Life Free Health Mission, is in collaboration with the Ministry of Health,and would cover primary medical treatments such as malaria, hepatitis B, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and hypertension, among others.

 “We are also looking at sponsoring surgical treatment of ailments such as glaucoma, dental care and optical services which include cataract surgery, and other eye ailments as well as giving out glasses to the beneficiaries.

“We shall be offering free breast cancer screenings which is in line with our renewed commitment towards the health of women in the state. Breast cancer is one of the deadliest cancers affecting women in Nigeria.

 “Omititun for Life Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is here to ensure free breast screening to reduce breast cancer in women, there will be a free treatment for women diagnosed with breast cancer and removal of the tumour.”
