Tragedy: Nigerian Boxer Segun Olanrewaju Collapses, Dies During Fight

Nigeria has suffered a boxing tragedy following the collapse in the ring and eventual death of one her compatriot, Segun Olanrewaju .

The late Olanrewaju, a.k.a Segun Success, former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, was ahead on points before collapsing and dying, in the fight that was staged Ghana on Saturday.

It was at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena where he took on against Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu.

The death has since the social media, showing the very moment the late Nigerian sportsman collapsed in the ring.

Segun Olanrewaju’s death has caught Nigerian sports loving public and the authorities mourning given his contributions to the growth of the sport in the country.
