Wike Reminds PDP Enemies: ‘I Don’t Run From Fights’

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has reminded his People’s Democratic Party, PDP enemies that he is not one to run from fights.

“I don’t run away from any fight. I will stay and fight it out. Who am I going to run from? The vampires? I cannot do that!”, he stated.

Wike was speaking at an interaction with journalists, as part of marking his first anniversary in office as a minister of the federal republic.

Wike’s comments come amid speculation that he may exit the PDP due to internal conflicts, particularly those targeting him.

He reiterated those stances as a way of telling that he was not willing to leave the PDP because of anyone.
instead, he said, “Anyone who knows me knows if I wanted to join the APC, I would do it openly.
“I’ve never hidden my stance, and I won’t start now. Integrity is very important.”

According to him, one must be known for something, and not waver at the outset of pressure or challenge.

Wike’s reaction is coming on the heels of a related reiteration by the acting chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Damagum, that he would not give in to intimidation from any quarters.

Both reactions are clear indications that the PDP house is in some kind of turmoil.
