Why We Set Up Committee To Debunk Lies Against Tinubu -APC

The All Progressive Congress, APC, has established a committee to address the threat of false information being spread about its nominee, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, has been the target of a number of accusations, which have been denounced by the All Progressives Congress Canada Chapter as false.

To this purpose, the party announced that it had reached an agreement to form a committee charged with the duty of dispelling rumors and threats made against the party’s presidential candidate on social media.

The APC Canada chapter’s chairman, Mr. Omololu Apata, stated this in a statement on Tuesday. In order to guarantee the party’s victory in the upcoming presidential election, he claimed the chapter had been providing its resources.

He claimed that Tinubu had been the subject of several accusations and unfounded rumors in recent years, notably on social media, but he assured that the committee will dispel any false information.

According to him, “Apart from contributing financially and in materials in this election, we are in the process of setting up a committee that will be dedicated to the debunking of social media misinformation directed at our party and it presidential candidate.

“There’s so much at stake in the forthcoming elections, it is not surprising therefore that in desperation, some people have turned social media to the harbinger of slander and blackmail. The role of the committee among others, will be to counter any lies or misinformation towards our principal candidate with facts that will invalidate their tissue of lies.”

“We are determined to do even more in the current political dispensation to ensure that our great party maintains and sustains the continuity necessary to leave an indelible footprint of growth, development, and stability for generations yet to be born in Nigeria,” Apata said in a statement supporting the growth of the APC in Nigeria.

“We are also fortunate to have Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu, a progressive and visionary leader, as our flag bearer,” he continued.

“By cooperating with and supporting the Diaspora directorate, which is skillfully led by Prince Ade Omole, we are already making our presence felt in Nigeria.

“It is also fantastic that Dr. Abiola Oshodi is a member of the presidential campaign council and is a well-known member of the APC Canada Chapter.”
