What Surviving The Obi Tsunami In S/East Has Shown Me –Abaribe

The candidacy of Peter Obi, Labour Party’s presidential flagbear in this year’s election, now styled “Obi Tsunami” continues to make waves in the country.

A strong politician in the South-East and immediate past minority leader of the 9th Senate Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has his own experience encountering what is now described as the Obi Tsunami.

Abaribe, winner of the Senatorial election in Abia South, has said surviving the OBIDATTI wave has shown him something..

Reacting to the Obi Tsunami, Abaribe in a recent video clip described his victory as a narrow escape following the Peter Obi ‘Tsunami’ in the region.

“It was a nice election and was going normally until we saw the OBIDATTI wave in the South-East and it almost consumed everybody and it showed me the love that our people have for me because I was able to survive that wave,” Senator Abaribe said

Abaribe’s recall is coming amidst the federal government saying aggrieved politicians on the outcome of the presidential election should seek redress in court.

The president the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party particularly could approach the court to seek redress if they felt they were cheated in the polls.

“If any candidate believes they can prove the fraud they claim is committed against them, then bring forward the evidence.

“If they cannot, then we must conclude that the election was indeed the people’s will – no matter how hard that may be for the losers to accept. If they feel the need to challenge, please take it to the courts, not to the streets”, Buhari said in a statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu.

“However, to do the latter means they are not doing it in the interest of the people, but rather to inflame, to put people in harm’s way and all for personal, selfish gains”.

“After a degree of polarization that necessarily accompanies any election, it is now time to come together and act responsibly. I call on all candidates to remember the peace pledge they signed just days before the election”, he said.
