The National Examinations Council (NECO) released the results of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), conducted between 20 April and 30 April 2026.
186,291 from Nigeria and five foreign countries participated in the examination, answering questions in 12 subjects.
The release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2026 BECE Award Committee Meeting held in Minna, Niger State, information from the council indicates.

Speaking at the meeting which was also attended by NECO management officials and principles from selected secondary schools, the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, expressed satisfaction with the processes leading to the release of the results.
This is even as the Committee has approved 22 and 23 July 2026 for the conduct of the BECE Re-sit Examination in Mathematics and English.
