Soldiers of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have saved the day for 6 university students, literally snatching them away from the hands of their abductors
Also rescued with the six students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, in Katsina State was a commercial driver.
The gallant performance was disclosed by the Deputy Director of Information, Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, 8 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Olamiyi Osoba.
He informed journalists in a statement that the troops responded to a distress call on the evening of September 21, 2026, and that their intervention led to the rescue of the victims.

All seven victims were rescued unhurt and subjected to preliminary security profiling and medical evaluation, he said in the following words:
“Following the preliminary security profiling and necessary medical evaluations, the rescued individuals were safely handed over to designated officials to facilitate their safe reunion with their families and school authorities”.
The Eagle reports that armed assailants had attacked a commercial vehicle travelling from Kaduna to Katsina along the Daye–Malumfashi road in Danmusa Local Government Area of the state, leading to the abduction of the individuals.
