The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has stated why its leader, Mazi Ralph Uwazuruike was chosen by late Biafra leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

Ojukwu preferred Uwazuruike for the course of a Biafra Republic due to the latter’s dedication, the movement has said in a statement.

The endorsement, MASSOB stated happened publicly during the burial ceremony of Uwazuruike’s mother, Ezinne Monica Uwazuruike, on January 19, 2008.

The statement signed by MASSOB’s Publicity Secretary, Mazi Chris Mocha, said Uwazuruike won Ojukwu’s heart with his steadfastness in the struggle.

Uwazuruike’s choice by Ojukwu was reinforced by Ojukwu in October 2007 during Uwazuruike’s partial release from Kuje Prison.
