However, it has continued to remain a shocker to Godswill Uko, a Jabi, Abuja resident.
Everything was in order when he left home, but he returned from work that day to discover of his life: his windows and doors had been removed, exposing his life and properties.

By the time the police stepped in, they arrested the landlord, 56 old Abdul Ayuba and had him arraigned at a Wuse Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja.
They charged him with mischief and theft, and he pleaded not guilty
The Prosecuting Counsel, Chinenye Okafor, alleged that the defendant on August 2, went to the apartment he rented to the complainant, and removed some doors and windows.
Okafor said that when the complainant returned from work, he discovered that his apartment was open and his stabiliser valued at N55,000, a wristwatch of N45,000 and an Iphone 12 promax valued at N305,000 were missing.
She said that the alleged missing items were estimated to be worth N405,000.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened provisions of Sections 327 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The Magistrate, Habiba Bello granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with one surety who she said must provide a means of identification and reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Bello also ordered that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means and that the surety’s address must be verified by the court’s registrar.
She adjourned the matter until September 16 for hearing.
