A group of university students are still gripped in fear following a midnight raid that swept through their campus.
In fact, many of them are still nursing the injuries they sustained fleeing from the midnight hostel raid.
The Ibogun Engineering Campus of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye was the spot of the confusion and stampede caused by yet-to-be ascertained gunmen who stormed there, at midnight.
Accounts say they numbered about a dozen, and continued to unleash gun shots till the latter part of the morning.
No part of the university neigourhood was spared the impact of their terror, and many people not only sustained injuries but reported losing gadgets and other possessions.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of Nigeria Police Force (PPRO), Oluseyi Babaseyi said the command has commenced investigation into the midnight attack.
The Ibogun Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and the Area Commander have been deployed to the scene to assess the situation and reassure students as well as other residents of their safety, he added.
But for the university students, however, caution is still the word.
