Spurs, Man Utd Tried To Hijack Vitor Roque’s Barca Move – Agent Reveals
Andre Cury, the outspoken agent for Vitor Roque, alleged that Tottenham and Manchester United both tried to sabotage his client’s transfer to Barcelona.
The colourful Cury claimed that United and Spurs had attempted to gazump their Catalan rivals with last-minute offers of around €100 million (£86 million/$111 million) when speaking to the Charla Podcast.

But his young tyro was sure there was only one club for him and agreed to an eight-year deal with Barca for perhaps about €40 million (£34 million/$45 million).
“We received much bigger offers from Tottenham and Manchester United for Vitor Roque. It was over €100 million. But his career plan is well mapped out and we opted for Barcelona. The moment is not to look at the money but the career,” Cury said.
There will be some scepticism surrounding the veracity of Cury’s claim because Athletico Paranaense received less than half of the alleged transfer money given by the Premier League pair. However, the player looks really committed to joining Barcelona.
The 18-year-old will join up with his new club next summer. In the meantime he’ll attempt to help Athletico go one step further in this year’s Copa Libertadores after last season’s final defeat to Flamengo.
