Peter Obi Resigns From PDP, Nigerians React
Presidential aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party, Peter Obi has pulled out of the party few days to the primary elections.
Peter Obi who made known his resignation from the party in a letter addressed to the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, the presidential aspirant noted that he is resigning because of “recent developments” in the party.
The letter dated May 24, with the title “Resignation from PDP and withdrawal from the presidential contest” was seen on twitter on May 25 evening on his twitter handle.
“…Unfortunately, recent developments within our party makes it impossible for me to continue participating and making constructive contributions.
“Our national challenges are deep-rooted and require that we each make profound sacrifices towards rescuing our country.” the letter partly reads.
Although Peter Obi has not indicated his joining any party nor his pulling out of the presidency race many Nigerians has reacted to the development on social media.
