My Dream For Nigerian Children- Ambassador Ajadi

As Nigerians celebrate children’s Day today, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, has again reiterated his dream for Nigerian children.

He said it is one of a future filled with the good things of life, rather than the vice and struggles that have characterised their current upbringing.

Ajadi who spoke while felicitating with the young ones, today being Children’s Day, bemoaned that the future hope of the nation were being exposed to very many harsh conditions in the midst of abundant human and materials endowments..

Bemoaning the problem of bad leadership, he submitted that it has been at the roots of the current quagmire in the country, especially harsh economy, which was making it difficult for parents and guardians to properly take care of their wards.

According to him, a sensitive government is one which is touched by the challenges of its people and which does everything legally right to bring about a solution.

Such a solution, he said, would factor children, the famed hope of the future, observing however that the reverse has been the case with Nigeria.

“What is happening in the country currently, does not however show a government that is interested in the wellbeing of its people.

“Very many families are finding it difficult to cope because of bad economy. They cannot conveniently afford other things like good shelter, clothing and education.

“The implication is that many children are out of school, or in school but lacking materials for quality education.

It is indeed painful. And that is why as we make this year’s children’s Day, I use the opportunity yet again to appeal to those in power to improve life and living for Nigerians.

“A parent who does not have work or earns pittance as salary or allowance cannot take adequate care of his children.

“A society filled with violence cannot be conducive for the proper upbringing of children.

“Let governments everywhere see it as an onerous duty to improve the living conditions of Nigerians. That is the starting point of secure future for Nigerian children, and not mere greetings from government on Children’s Day”, Ambassador Ajadi said.
