A violent altercation which escalated into a physical assault, has resulted in a son beating the father to death.
38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley had engaged his father, Adone Peter in a violent altercation which escalated into a physical assault, during which the older sustained severe injuries, particularly to the head.
He was immediately rushed to a medical facility for urgent medical attention, but eventually gave up the ghost.
The Ondo State Police Command which said the incident happened at Oda Community in Akure South Local Government Area of the state, added it has arrested the suspect.
This command stated these in a statement issued today by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
“The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has arrested a 38-year-old man, identified as Nsikak Kingsley for his alleged involvement in the death of his biological father, Adone Peter, aged 65 years”, the statement said.
“The tragic incident occurred in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State and has generated widespread concern among residents of the area.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that on 28th May, 2026, the suspect allegedly engaged his father in a violent altercation which escalated into a physical assault.

“During the confrontation, the deceased reportedly sustained severe injuries, particularly to the head. He was immediately rushed to a medical facility for urgent medical attention.
“Sadly, despite efforts by medical personnel, the attending doctor confirmed him dead while receiving treatment”, the statement added.
The suspect’s brother lodged a complaint at a nearby police station, after which the operatives swung into action arresting the suspect.
