Something greater than personal will is truly in town, otherwise, how would ever busy Yaba empty out so easily that it could now pass for a ghost town?

Well, that is simply the effect of the Corona Virus pandemic.

The authorities willing to stem further infections directed markets to shut down, and what you see of Yaba is an after-effect of that directive.
