Jim Ovia, is an astute Nigerian businessman with numerous investments in several blue-chip companies.

He is believed to own a total of 5, 059, 336,405 units of direct and indirect shareholding in the plum bank, making him the biggest shareholder in the company and one of Nigeria’s top billionaires.

With a banking career that spans about three decades, he is easily mentioned as one of Africa’s silent billionaires.

Last year, he launched a book, Africa Rise and Shine: How a Nigerian Entrepreneur From Humble Beginnings Grew A Business To $16 Billion.

The book tracks his ascendancy from the very base to the apex of one of the most sophisticated sectors of the Nigerian economy.

But much more, his rise with Zenith Bank is very instructive in the sense that it began from a modest ground floor apartment of an impoverished residential duplex that he shared with a private tenant.

Today, the Zenith insignia flies with unmatched dignity in very many strategic locations in the country.
