” Nothing is working in my life. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all, I see extreme hardship, and I can’t bear the pain anymore.

 I’m sorry Mom, I’m sorry Dad”…

Those words which were contained in her diary has been sending goose pimples in many who had come across it.

It has also stirred passionate emotions, as to the extent of hardship in the country.

Some have been muttering in one to one conversations: if the economy has been this harsh to a bank worker, how much more the ordinary folks?  Those exact words of the lady banker who took her life, as much as the incident itself are certain to linger in the memory for a long time.

The lifeless body of 32 year old Amarachi Ugochukwu who worked with a first-generation bank in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, was discovered on the floor of the bank’s toilet, by colleagues.
