British Kids now steal snacks – If you think it’s in Nigeria alone that parents scratch to be able to take care of their children, on account of harsh economy, perish the idea.
British Kids are now going to school so hungry they’re ‘stealing snacks and eating rubbers to feel full’, a report in the Mirror has shown
The report begins with Lisa Williams, head teacher at Rushey Green Primary School who reportedly said, a child was found eating a sandwich with no filling to avoid being hungry.
Beyond that, others are reportedly having to steal snacks and ‘eat rubbers’
These much were affirmed by a poll carried by the school food charity, Chefs in Schools.
In the poll, primary teachers also reported pupils storing food in their pockets to take home, stealing snacks from others and teachers having to use their own money to feed pupils.

Another instance cited was a Rushey Green, where all food from scratch are made so that surplus could be used to ensure there is enough to go around.
As a result, children are unable to concentrate, are very short tempered and emotional when hungry.
“Some children don’t have enough food in their packed lunch box but they pretend otherwise or they’ll stay away from the dining hall because they’re embarrassed. We’ll seek them out and ensure they eat”, Head chef Luke Kemsley said.
According to him, he enjoyed free school meals as a child and says change is needed to support schools and families.

Also, the Chefs in Schools charity is reportedly calling for an extension to the eligibility for free school meals.
This is against the background of reports that 800,000 children are currently at risk of going hungry are not entitled to support.
