A three hundred level student of the Ebonyi State University, made a terrible mistake last week, going to visit a man she met online.
The man wasn’t even in Ebonyi, but Anambra and by the time she got there, there, it was something else that transpired rather than live and affection:
ra, it was som to visit a man she met online, Chima whose story was published here earlier:
I am chinwuka Mercy Nneoma. From Ebony State. I am a student of Ebonyi State.
What happened
This guy Chima (see our earlier story) messaged me on TikTok last year around March 2025 but I didn’t reply.
He messaged again last week and we started talking.
He used to call every day.
He texted and told me that he lost his sister, he is the only son, that he is lonely and bored.that he needs somebody, that may be I can come so he would not be lonely.
I now told him that I would come
He wanted me to come last week I said I could not come last week, that I would come this week.
So yesterday morning he sent me money.N15,000 for transport.

I told him I wanted to come in the morning , he said no, that he was going for one burial , that I should start coming around 1pm.
I got here around 9pm in the night. Then I called him, he came. He brought a bike.
Before, he told me he had a car, but that the burial they went to, that people packed at his back that he could not bring out the car.
He brought that bike and took me to one hotel
We sat down there, he brought water that I should drink, I told him that I was already tired that we should start going home
Then he went inside the hotel, he was talking about power bank, I don’t know what he went to do inside the hotel and he came outside because I was outside.
He said we should be going home, we should be going home . He returned the water and we started going home.
We drove, drove drove, I said ah ah, na so the house far reach.
He said na so, na so.
We were going until we got to that big hole that has water, he stopped.
There was one bike coming behind and he said he does not like as the bike was following us.
I said ah ah, are you scared? He now came down. He was making fake fuzz, that they were fighting and that they would break the glass of his bike.
As the bike passed, I said we should start going now that the bike has passed
That was how he started dragging me.
I said ah ah, what is happening? What is happening now?
He now said do I know how many people they have killed at that place?
He said he was going to kill me and that no body was going to save me
I was struggling and that’s when he started beating me, beating me.
He took my phone and said I should put my password, I said no.
He was beating me, I now put my password. After i put my password, he was making calls, and said, “my guys are coming, my guys are coming”, that, they would meet me there. After I put my password, he took my phone and left.
After he left, I now saw one bike coming and I said please help me, they have stolen my phone.
He said he would not help me unless he sleeps with me.
I said no and started running until I got to one house and now entered.
I saw two men and one woman and told them what happened.
They called vigilantes. As we were standing there, one bike was coming and immediately he sighted us, he took a detour. That was how vigilante went after thema
