By Cami Ezenwa
Okonkwo Lambasts Critics On Sammie Okposo – Presiding bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Dr Mike Okonkwo, has come heavily on those passing unguarded comments on the death of late gospel musician, Sammie Okposo.
The man fondly called Big Daddy by faithful, made bare his thoughts while appreciating congregation members over success of his 50th year-in-ministry celebration last Sunday.
Okonkwo took exceptions to insinuations that Okposo was abandoned by men of God when he needed their help most, saying many having such opinion were obviously not privy to certain things in the late artiste’s relations with men of God.
Okonkwo, whose auditorium, the Cathedral of His Glory is a Jerusalem of sorts for young gospel musicians, those talking were obviously not privy to certain interventions of the men of God relating to Ogboso, as such could not be made a subject of public discourse.

Using himself as example, Okonkwo said: “I don’t have to tell you (the public) how many men of God I have restored in the past. I don’t have to tell you”.
If anything, he counselled, people should pick and ponder over the morals in the unexpected departure of Okposo, one of which was putting their houses in order.
“if anyone told him he would not see tomorrow, would he have agreed? The lesson is, whatever you have to do, do now.

Some of us need to make adjustments even in the way you dress “, the man of God admonished.
Speaking generally on right conducts in church, he said people must observe discipline, and not do anything just the way they like.
Citing II Cor 5, Dr Mike Okonkwo expressed worry at the level of immorality in the church, the worrisome level indulgence in things not acceptable scripturally, advising the congregation to flee such.
“Don’t associates with People who Indulge In sexual Sin”, he warned, adding that even in dressing, that a believer should remain conscious the kind of things they put on.
