Title holders, Real Madrid will face German side, Bayern Munich, in the Champions League semi final fixture, while Liverpool and Roma will trade tackles.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool recovered from going a goal down early on against Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s side looked to overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit.

However, Guardiola was sent to the stands at half-time before Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino secured a 2-1 win on the night to coast through 5-1 on aggregate.

Over in Italy, Roma pulled off one of the all-time Champions League shocks as they beat Barcelona 3-0 in Rome to reach the semis on away goals on the same night.

Wednesday’s matches saw Bayern secure a goalless home draw against Sevilla to progress 2-1 on aggregate, while holders Real Madrid needed an injury-time Cristiano Ronaldo penalty to get through after being given an almighty scare by Juventus.

The first leg of the semis will be played on 24 and 25 April, while the second leg on 1 and 2 May.

However, the Champions League final will be played on 26 May at Olimpiyskyi Stadium, Kiev.
