Applauses, Prizes As Winners Of NIJ Got Talent Show Emerge

There was so much to applaud and shout about yesterday at the NIJ Got Talent Show, the beginning act of the 2024 students ‘week

NIJ, acronym for the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, is Nigeria’s famed citadel of Mass Communication, which provides the Nigerian, Mass Communication and allied industries finished products.

The NIJ Got Talent Show is an event that allows students showcase their talents to stand the chance of winning various prizes.

The prizes include 50k for the first runner up,25k for the second runner up and 10k for the third runner up.
This year’s came with a difference as it was featured by famous TikTok stars and celebrities.

The three judges included; Mr Sam a.k.a Ayrubber, who is an alumni of NIJ, Mr Ugonna Samuel a.k.a Method, who is a talent manager and Mr John Oluwayimika a.k.a Savvy, who is a song writer and musician.

The other famous TikTok influencers who were present for the show included Bernie, Sofeya, Jasmine, Mandy, Ayo-ex.

The NIJ provost, Mr Gbenga Adefaye and the school’s Registrar, Mrs Kalensanwo graced the show l

The show consisted of three rounds with each round witnessing the eviction of contestants.
. The MC of the show,Mc Shammah was amiable, especially while introducing the nine contestants.
Those who performed in the first round included; Taiwo,Maltida,Yuppee and Angelo,Nifemi,the Ultimate dancers, Tomiwa,Goodness, Wealth and Joel.
Though the judges commended Their performances as wonderful but two had to go for the show to continue. Taiwo and Goodness were the first casualties.
The next stage with 6 performers left, The ultimate dancers unfortunately were disqualified and therefore they couldn’t make it to the next round.
The contestants were allocated one minute each to showcase their talents once more and convince the judges.
Some of their performances impressed the audience so much that they were sprayed money to encourage them more.

However, two participants were asked to leave respectively, Yuppee and Angelo and Joel.

The last round had the audience nervous as the remaining 4 contestants; Matilda,Nifemi, Wealth and Tomiwa performed once again with very limited time given to them by the judges.
However after so much deliberation and entertaining performances from a few participants, the first runner up, second runner up and third runner up positions went to Wealth, talented singer who the judges commended for being exceptional, Nifemi, a great dancer with an infectious energy and Tomiwa, a good singer and songwriter.

The NIJ Got Talent Show concluded with the winners receiving their prizes and. Mr Sam also promising that the winners would be featured on TikTok with their favorite stars.
