President Muhammadu Buhari

BY BOLAWA PELUMI SOLOMON

This write up refers to an earlier report on this platform titled: CAN Slams Buhari, Urges Him Yo Seek Foreign Help Now”.

In referring to the above, I would like to submit that truly,  any government that fails to guarantee security of lives and properties of its citizenry is tantamount to a failed government.

One of the things that has ridden this administration are the issues of insecurity.

Who Will Bail The Nigerian Education Sector?

Insecurity in Nigeria has brought lots of woes in the county, but unfortuately, it is not the only social challenge facing Nigeria now.

There is a high level of inflation, economic downturn and high rate of unemployment.

The country also contends with killings and kidnappings of students of institutions from primary schools to Higher institutions of learning. The way the Kidnapping is being executed gives reasons for concern, and it seems as if it is impossible to track the perpetrators.

Even after  the president issued a kill order on any herdsmen seen to be wielding AK 47 rifles, nothing has been heard in terms of real action.

A recent video surfaced online via Punch  where one of the bandits was seen bragging on his Kidnapping esca;ades, claiming he does not kill innocent people.

As Nigeria swims in its present state of lawlessness, especially in the northern part of the country, religious leaders must rise to the occasion; they must continually put the president on his toes to ensure that these killings and kidnappings stop.

Through it,  education in the Northern part of the country is already in jeopardy. .

Let it be said, that If this government would have failed in other sectors, if it fails to arrest the state of insecurity in the country. It is only those who are alive and healthy that can think of going to school or to a job for that matter. Any government that can’t secure its citizens is a failed government.
