The Anambra State Government has provided an update on the 10-year-old boy, who was seriously brutally by his guardian.
The assault which occured in Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, is currently receiving medical treatment, has been the subject of discussion online and offline
Providing an the update the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, it said the assault victim is currently receiving medical treatment.
The Anambra Government, through the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, made this known to newsmen in Awka on Monday, adding that boys was under state protection.
“I want to thank the good caring people of Anambra for bringing this case to our notice.
“The boy is receiving treatment now. My team and Obosi community woman leader visited him.
“The offenders must face the law for this barbaric act. If you see something please say something,” she said.
A viral video of the assault showed the boy’s scalded body, following the assault. The injuries were very visible on his body, allegedly inflicted by a woman, his guardian.
In fact, many social media users who sighted the video were shocked to their marrows.

A lady heading to Oshodi from Berger Bus Stop had introduced the story in the Sienna Bus taking them, with her constant shouts of both pity and alarm.
She had kept swearing that she would have personally taken on the fight for the hapless boy had she been resident in Anambra.
Others have also voiced out that perpetrators of acts like the above should not be allowed to go free, and that the victim should be withdrawn from her after his medical treatment.
