Life is truly vanity upon vanity. We fight for everything in this world -power, wealth, possessions yet leave with absolutely nothing at the end.
It is troubling to watch many Nigerian politicians do everything possible to grab power, loot the national treasury, and oppress the masses, forgetting that one day, nothing will go with them out of this world. It is the tragedy of fighting for what cannot last.
They enrich themselves, their families, and their cronies while millions suffer from poverty, insecurity, unemployment, and hopelessness. To many of them, politics has become a game of grabbing and looting rather than service to humanity. Yet they forget that someday the Owner of life will demand that borrowed life back without seeking anyone’s permission. Life belongs to God alone.
There is nothing absolute in this world. All the stress, struggle, pride, and noise of life can disappear within the twinkle of an eye. When the engine is removed from a vehicle, the vehicle becomes useless. That is the reality of human life.
Sometimes one wonders: why are we really here? Religion has tried to answer this question in different ways, yet one truth remains clear — this life is temporary. As people grow older, they begin to realize how fragile and uncertain existence truly is. Every passing day reminds us that this world is not permanent.
So why the greed? Why the wickedness? Why make the masses suffer because of wealth and power that cannot last forever? No matter how rich or powerful a person becomes, the final destination is still the same six feet beneath the ground. And once buried, all the noise, pride, and possessions disappear into silence.

This life is short and, for many, brutal. That is why humanity must learn to be humane. Let us treat people with dignity and compassion. Let leaders stop looting public resources meant for the benefit of all. Let national wealth be used to improve lives rather than enrich a few individuals and their associates.
We should stop boasting as though we own the world when in reality we are only strangers passing through it, uncertain even of the next second of our borrowed life. God alone knows and controls everything, not man.
Let there be a change in the way we live. Let us fear God, live rightly, and show kindness to one another because nobody knows when the Creator will ask for the borrowed life back. Above all, let us remain thankful to God for the opportunity to exist at all.
