What would make a mob, no matter how angry, to storm a hospital mortuary and steal body?
Well, that it the puzzle that authorities are trying to find answer to, even as the entirety of the medical facility where the abomination took place, has outrightly condemned it.
The sordid act played out at Naivasha County Referral Hospital, Kenya after an agitated crowd reportedly stormed the facility.
Kenya is currently embroiled in fuel strikes that has touched literally every part of the country, but it was not clear as at press time, whether this has anything to do with it
Reports indicate that the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has condemned the act, describing it as a serious security breach.
What could prompt any people to storm a hospital mortuary and take a way a body, remains the puzzle.
Reacting to the matter in a press statement issued on Tuesday, KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Davji Atellah said the Monday incident endangered the lives of doctors and healthcare workers on duty while disrupting critical medical services at the facility.
Warning against directing anger at a medical facility, was a direct attack at seamless administration of medical care to the people, especially coming in the midst of social unrest in the country.
“Yesterday, a rowdy and agitated crowd forcefully stormed the facility, disrupted medical operations, and took away a deceased patient’s body from hospital custody,” stated Dr. Atellah.
“This act of violence severely endangered the lives of doctors and all the healthcare providers on duty, creating a hostile environment in what should be a sanctuary of healing.”

“It is uncalled for that healthcare facilities — the very places the public runs to for emergency medical care during civil unrest — should be targeted with violence,” Dr. Atellah quoted in the media as stating.
“When chaos erupts, our dedicated medical personnel stand on the frontline to preserve human life.”
“We ask a fundamental question: How are we meant to save lives when our own survival is constantly under threat within the workplace?” he rhetorically questioned.
