As a way of teaching him a lesson over allegedly causing commotion, a man taking care of his sick has been locked up in the hospital mortuary.
The shocking incident has left many wondering whether that was the best way to react, even if the man in question was truly causing commotion.
Not only did the hospital security, on the instruction of the nurse on duty, push Chanda Musonda into the mortuary full of dead bodies, they thereafter switched off the light on him.

The victim was nursing his wife in Ward G22 of the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Lusaka when the incident happened.
A report in the Zambian Observer, described the man as being traumatized after the incident.
In a reaction, UTH Public Relations Officer, Natalie Mashikolo reportedly described the mortuary as a secure place with restricted access.
According to her, the action of the hospital staffers in forcing Musonda into the mortuary and later switching off the light meant one was compromising the mortuary and damaging the reputation of the institution.

Mashikolo was further reported as adding that management would not take the matter lightly, but would take disciplinary action on those who would be found wanting.
Narrating his ordeal to Zambian Observer on camera afterwards, Musonda said not only was the light to the mortuary which was filled with dead bodies switched off on him, but that he was forced to sit on the floor close to the mortuary door.
