N6k Debt: Woman Chokes Pastor To Death, Arrested By Police

The Ishaga neighbourhood of Lagos has been thrown into mourning and anguish following the sudden death yesterday, of a trader simply identified as pastor.

The death, in a most unfortunate circumstance was over a N6, 000 debt to another trader in the market, a woman simply identified as Mummy Bella and who operates a thrift business.
It was not too clear what the N6, 000 was in respect of, but a source told our correspondent that the woman, in the bid to collect the money had held pastor on the collar, shoving him from left to right without the pastor retaliating.

“Everybody in the market knows the pastor to be a quiet man, who would not want to fight anyone, so they were pleading with Mama Bella to release her hold and let the man go”
The woman was said to have refused the pleas only for the pasto to collapse thereafter.

According to the account, he was quickly rushed to the nearby Longe Hospital but was rejected by the staffers on duty.
He was however rushed to Ancilla Hospital where he was confirmed dead

“People in the market have been most shocked by the death of pastor, a father of four” the source said, adding:

“The most unfortunate thing was that other people in the area were begging the woman to let go the Pastor, a quiet and struggling man but she refused.

“We also hear that the wife had been most shocked, wondering how she and the children would cope without the family’s bread winner”, the source told our correspondent.
