NYSC Advises Corpers: Obey These 7 Instructions In Your Interest

Are you a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) intending to serve your fatherland, without any negative consequences?

If your answer to the above question is yes, then you need to take heed to three crucial things you need to do in the course of your service year.

They are as stated by the Director-general (DG) of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brig. Gen. Y.D. Ahmed .

Ahmed reeled them out at the closing ceremony of the orientation exercise of 2024 Batch A Stream 2 corp members.

The ceremony took place at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wamakko local government area of Sokoto State.Dortmund

  1. Be an exemplary ambassador
  2. Foster unity in any society you find yourself
  3. Respect the culture and traditions of your host community
  4. Don’t engage in criminal activities

The DG who was represented at the event by the Sokoto State NYSC coordinator, Alhaji Usman Yakubu Yaro, also advised the corps members to uphold the good reputation of their families and that of the NYSC.

“I urge you to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work, and resilience, which you imbibed during the orientation course.”

  1. Avoid night travel: whenever it’s 6:00 pm cut off their journey wherever they are and look for designated safe places to spend the night.
  2. Continue with the post-camp training of the Skill Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme
  3. Avail yourself at all times at their places of primary assignments.
