If They Amputate My Leg, Where Would I Go –John Ibu

Popular Nigerian comic actor, John Ibu has a million naira rhetoric question: if they amputate my leg, where would i go?

This follows a threatening health condition which he has been battling for sometime and which may result in him losing his leg through amputation.

He has thus issued an urgent plea to his fans and Nigerians to please keep him in their prayers, a Save Our Soul (SOS) message on his Instagram yesterday,

“I have been unwell for several weeks now. All I am hoping for is your prayers and assistance. I am still in the hospital bed as I speak to you. The medical director of this hospital has suggested that the last resort is to amputate my leg if his next treatment does not work.

“Just think, if they amputate my leg, where would I go? What would be my future? Please keep me in your prayers.

Reach out to the Almighty. I don’t want to lose my leg”, he asserted.

Meanwhile, Mr John Ibu’s condition has spurred a level of controversy between one of his celebrated colleagues, Kanayo O. Kanayo and Reno Omokri, aid to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He latter had refeered Mr Ibu’s condition to presidential candidae of the Labour Party in the last election, asking the latter to assist the ailing artiste.

The innuendo did not go down well with Kanayo O. Kanayao who immediately reacted.

Kanayo O Kanayo has slammed Reno Omokri and Uche Maduagwu over their comments on John Mr. Ibu Okafor who is currently battling with an undisclosed illness.

On Wednesday, the ace actor took to Instagram to plead for financial assistance.

Earlier, Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, called out Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate, asking him to financially support the ailing actor.

Omokri had stated that some of the billions raised by Obi during the election should be used to help Mr. Ibu

“I condemn in strict terms Reno Omokri who is coming to call Peter Obi’s name. It is not a friendly thing, it is wicked, and the other guy, Uche Maduagwu, who talked about shame on top actors, shame on you too,” Kanayo O. Kanayo had reacted.

“I say shame on you because you do not have any value and level to call our names. It is an individual thing to do to support a colleague. It becomes a collective as the Actors Guild of Nigeria who are doing their best within their limited time.

“We compliment your effort in giving but nobody should use it as a platform to castigate, impune, or indict those who have not given.

“Do not use our colleague’s name, John Okafor Ibu to trend just because you want a name. Reno Omokri, if you want to commend national issues, be fair to yourself. Stop seeking attention”, the A’ list actor reacted.
