How Mohbad Ends Contract Deal With Naira Marley Over Assault

Naira Marley, the proprietor of Marlian Records, has received a notice of contract termination from the attorney for Nigerian street musician Mohbad.

According to Theeagle, Mohbad uploaded a video tape earlier this week in which he claimed the Marlian team had assaulted him when he asked to replace his manager, who also happens to be a Marlian family member.

Notice of contract termination was sent to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records in the statement released by the singer’s attorneys on Tuesday.

The “Termination Notice” letter claims, among other things, that Naira Marley planned and carried out violent assaults against their customer Mohbad.

Furthermore, it stated that Naira Marley had violated the terms of the 2019 contract by failing to pay Mohbad all royalties and advances that were owed to him.

The letter added that Mohbad was dissolving his agreement with Marlian Records and demanding that Naira Marley pay all royalties, advances, and other financial obligations owed to him by the agreement.

The letter also demanded that Naira Marley give Mohbad the list of every song she has ever published through Marlian Records.
