Don’t Consume Items Looted In Endsars Protests if you love yourself as it may turn out to be poison.

This is the summary of the warning coming from the Ekiti State government after it realised that looters of warehouses suspected to be housing undistributed COVID-19 palliatives may have been wiser by half.

There were also indications that part of what was carted away by the hoodlums were fertilizers and other poisonous seeds preserved for planting

Also affected was the state office of Agricultural Development Programme, (ADP), in Ado Ekiti.

Mr Akin Omole, who is the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, gave the warning, based on information it said was available to the state authority.

According to him, there was need to forwarn people against consuming plain posion.

” Information at our disposal revealed that the Federal Government’s Silos, the Agric Development Programme (ADP) warehouse and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) store, all in Ado- Ekiti, had been attacked by hoodlums under the guise of seeking CACOVID palliatives.

” We insist that Ekiti State currently has no CACOVID palliative warehouse as all the palliatives had been distributed.

” Unfortunately, the items carted away are Single Super Phosphate fertilizer and NPK which they erroneously thought was ‘Gaari.

” The SEMA store too has only emergency supplies for disaster response e.g. flood, fire or any other emergencies.

” Some even made away with Corns preserved for planting, with chemical prefermentation. All these items are poisonous and not fit for consumption

” We therefore appeal to our people not to consume these items because they can kill.

” For the avoidance of doubt, Ekiti State has no COVID-19 Palliatives warehouse as all palliatives had been distributed to members of the public during the lockdown period”, the Commissioner said.

” They are not advisable for consumption. There shall be no untimely death in Ekiti state as a whole”, added Dr Olabode Adetoyi, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security .

Adetoyi made his submission through a related statement.
