The possibility alone gives goose pimples but that is what a 25 year old woman is accused of doing.

Molivia Sikabbubba, of Mwapona Township of Choma, Zambia is already a guest of the police over the heavy allegation of drowning her eight-month-old baby at a steam. This followed an argument with her husband.

Auxensio Daka, who is the Southern Province police commanding officer confirmed the incident yesterday, so the woman now faces infanticide.

It began with a marital dispute last September 25, between the suspect and her husband, Cain Moono which made the former to leave the house.

When eventually she was found last Sunday, October 1, the child was not with her, raising suspicions.

There was no clear explanation coming when her uncle began to question her about the baby.

“This prompted her uncle, together with her husband, to take her to Choma Police Station, where she confessed to having thrown her son in the stream, on the way to her village, for no apparent reason,” he said.

In a situation where many are in dire need of children, the woman confessed to drowning her child in a stream.

The act was committed on September 25 around 14:00 hours, the police said.
