VIDEO: Trouble at Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr? Brozovic & Laporte Involved In Heated Argument

The AFC Champions League match between Al-Nassr and Al-Fayha was marred by a furious altercation between Marcelo Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte.

The former Inter midfield player needed to be restrained by staff after the former Manchester City defender seemed to have upset him. Prior to being pushed aside by teammate Ali Lajami, the Al-Nassr midfielder looked to be having a conversation with Laporte as cameras followed him. The Croatian turned back, and a staff person had to intervene to prevent things from spiralling out of hand between him and Lajami.

The Saudi revolution was started by Cristiano Ronaldo in January 2023, and Brozovic and Laporte followed suit in the summer. The two were seen as a huge coup for the Saudi game, having just faced off in the Champions League final—possibly the highest point in club football. Laporte went and immediately became the most well regarded defender in the SPL after winning the match and a treble with City. The 29-year-old, however, hasn’t had an easy time of it; he recently expressed his disappointment with his new residence.

Al-Nassr boss Luis Castro did not appear too worried about the incident when he spoke out after the match. “These confrontations can be a positive thing,” he said after seeing his team progress to the next round.

The Saudi Pro League team advanced to the AFC Champions League quarterfinals by defeating Al-Fayha. In an attempt to close the gap on Al-Hilal at the top of the standings, the club will play Al-Shabab next.
