Sir Godwin Okon Nelson – Remembering A Model & Rare Daddy

Daddy, this month makes it a year since your departure from this sinful world, but the fond memories of your life on earth lingers with us
It is difficult not to think about you each passing day.
You were a Senior Accountant with The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), and also a Pastor in The Apostolic Church of Nigeria before your transition to eternal glory, but like all good men, you left legacies of an impactful life, and for this, we remember you today.
My resemblance of you is such that, even with your departure, it is easy to catch a reality of yourself, merely looking at me.
And it is for this reason, that our wonderful mother, Mrs Abigail G.O. Nelson is a little consoled: to her, beholding me each time is like seeing her husband standing physically before her.
Daddy, we the entire family remember you today as our iconic figure for all that you did for us, for all you mean to our lives.
As a person, you accomplished so much in your lifetime. Those accomplishments, spirit of brotherhood and non-violence, your adherence to equality as well as devotion to justice have helped to mould the who I am today.
Imbibing those principles as a person, as you tried to teach us to do, has helped to stand me out today..
Truly, I know that what you expect of us in the family is to focus on your legacies of leadership as a father; the qualities of love, peace, unity and togetherness, which are essential ingredients on the path of greatness.
Daddy, we remember you today for making sure that the family remained in the body of Christ. The spiritual heritage you gave us, desiring us to walk in the way of the Lord has remained fruitful.
You ensured we imbibed the principles of Proverbs 22:6; you showed us love, support, wisdom, character, and faith. You made us your first love.
Daddy, the faith you demonstrated built a strong foundation for us. It has built character in us, helping to shape our lives and our world. We are forever grateful for the legacy of your love to us.
You demonstrated the value of these word ” Seek God First”
You volunteered your time for many extended families, caring for them, making sure they had access to good life.
What a man.
Daddy, there has been no day that we did not benefit from your legacy, Proverbs 3:5-6 being the foundation.
You thought us the reality of 2 Timothy 4:6-7; we not knowing that it would soon be an experience you would go through so soon.

Father, thank you for being the gift of heritage to our lives and family. We pray for you today with all of our heart, saying: May God continue to bless you where you are.

My Big daddy, I wish I could see you one more time, come walking through the door and calling me but I know it is impossible.
It heart broken that someone so loving, caring and joyful, that brings joy to our life is no more with us but we know your love and joy remained with us. Rest in peace

It is indeed a painful exit but we find joy when we remember that you are in the right place with the Lord Almighty.
Big daddy as I always called you, thanks for love encouragement and legacy you provided to the family.
