Premier League 2022-23: Manchester City Confronts Tottenham Hotspur

Premier League 2022-23 hopes are on the rise, this Thursday, as Champions Manchester City squares up to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Etihad stadium is venue for the clash which has great expectations for both sides.

After literally throwing away a 1-0 lead in a match against arch rivals, Manchester United who were playing at home the last time, the Pep Guardiola team, obviously needs to close the 8 points gap between it and Arsenal on the table.

There is no better way of re-staking its commitment to big shields in the soccer arena, moreso, as the curtain is set to draw on the league, not quite long hence.

The Eagle recalls the enthusiasm of City’s fans melting into disappointment after Marcus Rashford’s and Bruno Fernandes’ goals respectively, sealed a 2-1 victory for Manchester United.

Winning the game at hand, would be a good way of assuaging the feelings of its supporters.

On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspurs’ last outing ended in 0-2 defeat to Arsenal, with analysts predicting that resignation may just be the lot of the players, if pep-up fails to get them to defend their name.

After all, it is only miracle – a rare one at that- that could bring the team back in contention for the title, with their 5^th position on the league table currently.

But then, if recent record is anything to go by, Tottenham Hotspur may have a better claim to Thursday’s clash, having successfully edged out City, four good times out of five encounters in the recent.

More still, a team that has player Harry Kane on its striking line, is not to be trifled with

The Eagle reports that Kane already has 15 goals to his credit, and on a good day, is expected to make things happen for Tottenham Hotspur.

For Manchester City, the burden would be heavier on Erling Haaland, who has a higher goal tally to his name, 21 still counting.

These and more taken into cognisance, this Premier League 2022-23 encounter between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, is obviously a game to look forward to.
