Mourinho Did An ‘Extraordinary’ Job At Roma – Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri, the manager of Juventus, laments Jose Mourinho’s dismissal from Roma and believes the Serie A team performed “extraordinary” work under his leadership.

The famed Portuguese strategist was abruptly fired from his position at Roma on Tuesday morning after the team had only won one of their previous six league games. Despite a terrible run of results, Allegri, the manager of Juventus, and Italian football are both surprised by this development, especially in light of Mourinho’s transatlantic adventures with the team.

The Italian bemoaned Roma’s decision when speaking to Sky Sports Italia: “I’m sorry about his dismissal, Italian football is losing an important coach. Both for what he did in his career and at Roma, extraordinary, from the outside everything seems easy. The results demonstrate it. I’m also sorry for the relationship we have, I wish him good luck for the rest and also to Daniele De Rossi, who is at the beginning of his career.”

Allegri suggests that De Rossi, the legendary player from Italy and Roma, assumes immediate leadership, with the Giallorossi currently sitting in ninth place in Serie A and five points out of Champions League contention. In an unplanned meeting that lasted about twenty-five minutes, the decision to appoint the former midfield player was allegedly already made when Mourinho was given his marching orders.

The rumours will undoubtedly pick up steam now that Mourinho is back on the market, with teams ranging from Chelsea to Brazil being mentioned as possible future stops. While this is going on, Allegri keeps trying to return to Serie A glory. With two points separating him and his teammates from leaders Inter, they are currently in second place.
