Liverpool Suffer HUGE Title Race Blow As Goalkeeper Out Indefinitely With Hamstring Injury

Liverpool standout goalie, Alisson will be sidelined for some time due to a hamstring injury,  Jurgen Klopp confirmed.

The Brazilian goalie hasn’t played for Liverpool since the Reds’ away match against title rivals Arsenal, when he made a mistake involving Virgin van Dijk. Alisson has missed games following the loss due to illness and a subsequent hamstring injury. Although many people consider him to be one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world, Caoimhin Kelleher, his backup, has performed brilliantly to make sure the loss is not as great.

Speaking on Alisson’s potential return, Klopp quashed hopes that he would be back soon. The Liverpool boss said: “There is no real timescale on it, but it is a proper muscle injury. It is not a short one. It is a rather serious one, but not a season-ending injury.”

Kelleher can anticipate spending a considerable amount of time between the sticks for Liverpool. Throughout his career, the Republic of Ireland international has only made 10 appearances in the Premier League, which has limited his minutes. Kelleher has taken advantage of his opportunity and earned his spot in a string of games, so he is no longer restricted to merely cup outings.

Despite Kelleher’s impressive performance, Klopp will be hopeful that his top player returns as soon as possible because every game counts towards the championship. Alisson will be watching from the sidelines as Kelleher continues to start in goal for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest.
