Lagos commences sale of Lake Rice ahead Easter Celebration

The Lagos State government has commenced the distribution and sale of Lake Rice at designated centres in the state.
This was towards food sufficiency during the Easter celebration period in the state.
According to the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Oluwatoyin Suarau, the sale of Lake Rice would be sold in designated centres from Thursday (today).
According to him, “the need to ensure that Lake Rice would be available in every nook and cranny had become inevitable as the Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration was determined to attain food sufficiency”.
He assured that the state government would ensure continuous availability of LAKE Rice in established designated sales centres, major markets, shopping malls and supermarkets already in partnership with the state government with a view to assiduously ensuring adequate supply all over the state.
He disclosed that the price of the rice had not changed from N12,000, N6,000 and N2,500 for 50 kilogrammes, 25kg and 10kg respectively, adding that the government would continue to make the product affordable in order to ensure food security and make Nigeria a producing nation.
Meanwhile, the designated centres for the sale of the rice are Farm Service Centre, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Lagos State Agric Input Supply Authority (LAISA), Ojo, Agricultural Development Authority (ADA), Oko Oba, Agege, Farm Service Centre, Temu Epe and Lagos Television (LTV), Agidingbi.
