JUSTIN: One Injured As Police Violently Disperse Mourners At Late Singer MohBad’s Candlelight Procession (PHOTOS)

Tense atmosphere enveloped the environs of Muri Okuonla Park in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday night as police officers fired canisters at sympathisers who stormed the location to demand justice and pay tribute to late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.

The candlelight procession held in Mohbad’s honour after his untimely death was attended by many of his admirers, friends, and fellow musicians, but it descended into turmoil as the police tried to disperse the throng.

As of the time filing this report, only one person injured while others were affected by the flame of the canisters during the encounter with law enforcement.

Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, the proprietor of the Marlian Record Label, was accused of killing Mohbad last Tuesday, which sparked suspicions.

In the early days after his passing, there have also been accusations and denials from his distant relatives regarding his demise.

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered both Department of State Service (DSS)  and Nigeria Police to investigate the cause of the death thoroughly.
