We’ll Ensure Those Behind Mohbad’s Death Are Prosecuted – Senator Abbo

The Senator representing Adamawa State North Senatorial District, Ishaku Abbo, has vowed that anyone indicted by the police investigation on the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, will be prosecuted.

The former Marlian, died on September 12, 2023 in controversial circumstances, leading to wide-spread condemnations and calls for a thorough investigation.

Lending a voice, Senator Ishaku Abbo on Thursday, made a firm commitment to pursueing justice for the former Marlian record label artist.

Senator Abbo, who spoke when he paid a condolence visit to Mohbad’s family, accompanied by renowned Nollywood actresses lyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh.

During the visit, Senator Abbo conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, acknowledging the profound impact of Mohbad’s music and artistry on the Nigerian entertainment landscape.

He assured them that the government would leave no stone unturned in seeking justice for their loss.

“I am present here to offer condolences to your family. Upon learning about your son’s passing and the ensuing controversies on social media, we recognized the significance of visiting your family to provide solace”, he said.

“We will not rest until those responsible for this tragedy are brought to justice.

“Anyone found guilty through the ongoing police investigation will face the full weight of the law”, he added.

He emphasised that a proposed Bill, supported by the Presidency, aimed to establish financial assistance for individuals affected by situations similar to those experienced by victims of the EndSARS protests, as well as victims of violence or extremism.

This declaration is seen by many as underscoring the commitment of both the government and the law enforcement agencies to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise.
