Hurray, FG Delivers Coventry University UK Education On Nigerians’ Laps

Have you been dreaming of the possibility of having Coventry University, United Kingdom education in Nigeria?

Then, it is hurray because your dream has come true.

It has come true because the Federal Government has just secured a partnership with the university under a Transnational Education (TNE) arrangement to establish a campus in Nigeria.

This will simply deliver affordable, globally recognised degrees to interested learners.

The cheering news was delivered by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

The statement which was issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, shows that the proposed campus of Coventry University in Nigeria would be located in Alaro City, Lagos State.

The minister is currently in the team of President Bola Tinubu’s delegation to the United Kingdom but has been engaging UK university leadership, key investors, and development partners to drive the initiative.

He said the programme would offer Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in the following disciplines:

i. Science,

ii. Technology,

iii. Engineering,

iv. Mathematics and Medicine (STEM),

v. Business, and

vi. Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

At the end of their programmes, the attendees would be awarded degrees equivalent to those awarded in the United Kingdom.

Admissions to the university are expected to commence between the third and fourth quarters of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

The minister said the initiative was designed to expand access to world-class education at reduced cost, while strengthening skills development and improving graduate employability.
